Well it was with mixed feelings we left London this morning. We have loved our time in London but we have to leave to go and explore new places and see new things.
We went to Paddington Station ..... which I was very excited about... when I was a little girl I dreamt of finding a bear from Peru to adopt!
The train from London to Cardiff was amazing. A two hour train trip in soft comfortable seats with lots of leg room and TV's in the seats..... hmmmm seems a bit different to the old Bomaderry rattler!
I was so very excited to find my own little mini Paddington to adopt and he travelled on my bag to Wales with us. He was then joined by a little friend - the Welsh dragon! Wonder how many little friends I an collect by the time we get home!?!We found the B&B and headed into the city centre to go exploring. We ran into a lot of noise and people. Vuveselas (?sp), singing, lots of crowds in the streets. Mexico, Brazil, Belguim.... turns out there is a big rugby game on this weekend. They were definately in the party mood!
The main part of Cardiff is simply amazing. The main street we walked down is full of gorgeous old buildings as far as you could see - looking up the street it was even finished off at the top by a castle! Simply gorgeous.
Then as a stark contrast we walked through an arcade and came out in a completely modern street. The difference was mind blowing.
Our B and B was one we simply could not go past. For all of my life the answer to any question we asked Mum .... particularly if we were full of questions was 62. It started one day when I was little and I asked Mum something obvious... can't remember what that question was but I found her answer of 62 hilarious. from that moment forth Mum's standard answer was 62 and this is something I have carried onto my kids. So when we found a B & B simply called Number 62 how could we resist?
It is a beautiful house and our rooms on the top floor are lovely (although walking up all those stairs with our heavy suitcases was a challenge) The one anomaly was this small door we found part way up one stairccase - although we did decide it was a Tasha sized door ~L~
Todays tally
Steps 17494... so much for having a quiet day
Number of men dressed as smurfs we saw: 8
Number of drunk rugby players Tasha made friends with: lots
Number of offers of free beer Tasha knocked back from drunk rugby players: 2 (well she was with her parents so she couldn't say yes!)
Tomorrow we head off on a day full off Doctor Who. I have two very excited boys (and yes okay I'm excited too!)
